Sandy (& 'Gravel') Sunday Morning 9-12 COUNTRY CIRCLE Country and Western Music We started with Bulla FM 29th August, 1992 after we left 3WRB to join Sandy's brother, Peter (known as 'Cactus'), on his Bulla FM program, "Country Circle" ('Cactus' left the program after approx. 2 years) We have done over 458 shows (would be more but we were absent for 10 months in 2006 due to illness) And what type of music do we like? Country (is there anything else?) Actually we like all music except trad jazz & heavy metal. Our main enjoyment from being a broadcaster is having contact with the listeners, meeting new friends & broadcasting music the listeners will not hear on commercial radio. And of the future ….we want to find a wife for Mr. Walker! *( Mr Walker is the overnight radio automation software program) -ED |
Scott Boydle Tuesday 10-12pm SIGNAL FLOW Alternative Music (3NRG Secretary) My 1st episode of 'Signal Flow' was 26/5/05. I had been doing audio production at 3NRG by that stage for about a year already. I started doing production because I had learnt how at Sunbury Victoria University as part of my Sound technology course. I then thought that seeing I was paying my fees at the station I should do a show too. I've now done over 90 shows I like all sorts of music but my favorite is 60's rock, particularly 60's 'punk'. As a radio broadcaster I like using my show as an excuse to explore my music collection and research the things I present. I try to make my show interesting for myself and hopefully anyone listening. And for the future? I'd like perhaps to have guests come in and bring their music collections. I'd like to learn about what sort of music others like and hopefully these people will have some knowledge of what they bring in that they can share. |
Ed Ski Tuesday 2-4pm The Think Tank Music variety and talk I started some time in 2005 because I wanted to host a show that is unique to 3NRG. I've now done one show a week for approx. a year, then there was some time we did 2 shows a week. So maybe between 80 -100? I have no specific genre of music I like. It varies from Mozart, 70's classic rock, 80's disco 90's whatever to some 2000's rubbish they put out :-) What do enjoy about being a radio broadcaster? Being different, and hopefully making a difference to peoples lives by invoking thought provoking discussion / views. What do you want to do in the future? Integrate presenting with my personal goals, and career ambitions. |
Bill Kirk Monday 9-11pm SHOWTIME Saturday 10-12pm SUPER SATURDAY SPORTS SHOW Sunda y 7am-9am SUNDAY MUSIC SHOW Sunday 4-6pm SUNDAY CONCERT (3NRG Treasurer) jkirkby@hotmail.com I started at 3NRG In May 2005, because I saw the opportunity to share the music that I enjoy, with others and in accordance the first 22 years of my time in Sunbury, to continue to be involved in the life and community outreach of my town. I found out about the station through Trevor Clark [Station Manager] via my association with on the Goonawarra School Council. I have now done over 280 shows in all. What type of music do I like? As the variance of shows indicates, I like a range of music but probably my favorite show is the 'classical music' one on Sunday mornings. The main things I like about being a broadcaster is contributing to a community activity, and feeling I'm doing something of value, also the opportunity to share the music I like and to talk about another love, sport, together with a certain pride in being a part of a strong and enthusiastic radio team here at 3NRG. And what do you want to do in the future? 3NRG has much potential for further development within the Sunbury community and I would like to stay around long enough to see those potentials realized. At present, such possibilities are not been fully developed, and their achievement needs a strengthening of the voluntary commitment from an already dedicated 3NRG team. |
Louise Humphries Saturday 10-12am Super Saturday Sports Show (Outside Broadcast Sports Announcer and Committee member) Sports Show When started: 2005 Why: There was a vacancy for a host for the Super Saturday Sports Show and I love my sport! How many shows: Lost count. Every Saturday morning. Type of music like: Anything from Country, Rock, to Today. The best artists are Michael Buble, Icehouse, Ronan Keating, Chris Isaak and even Billy Ray Cyrus! Why like being a broadcaster: Bringing local sport to the people of Sunbury and Surrounds and discussing sports that don't get a lot of mainstream coverage. |
Phil Roberts Alternative Saturdays 6-8pm Classic Rock Also a sponsor of 3NRG I started at 3nrg in the year 2000, I saw it as an opportunity to improve my self-confidence and to do what I love doing, indulging in music. I have been a regular listener since the Bulla FM days after seeing it advertised around the town. I don't really know how many shows I've done, but I guess it's around 130. I like all types of music, but like to focus on rock mainly. What I like most about being a presenter is enjoying being myself with my crazy sense of humor and playing my favorite types of music. In relation to the station I have not really got any burning ambitions as a DJ, I'd just be happy coasting along here at 3nrg, but as far as other things go I hope to join up one day with the Boilerhouse Art Group. |
Andrew Krome PlatedYabby Show Wednesday 6-8pm Blues,Country & Rock n Roll I have been a presenter at 3NRG for the past seven years. I am passionate about all types of music but particularly like good rock music from the 60's & 70's. My show "Krome Plated Yabby" gets its name from a Lobby Loyde song that he recorded with the Wild Cherries in the 60's. The song title is not related to the song at all - a bit like my show. Each week could be something different - a bit of blues, a bit of country, and lots of good rock'n'roll. The show is often co-presented by Gus Gleason who brings his own slant to proceedings. So tune in every Wednesday between 6:00 & 8:00pm. Outside of radio I am a full-time school teacher and also play regularly in the 60's & 70's cover band The Ripchords - check us out at www.ripchords.com.au |
Christine3nrg@hotmail.com Christine started on 3NRG in 2003 "I discovered radio via the literacy teacher Bruno Lettieri at the Rotunda Writing Group, at the Sunbury Campus at Victoria University. There I learned to express myself and with Jo Buchannan leading a group of us to 3NRG radio where she helped produce "Wordwaves" in 2003. At 3NRG the presenter DJ Dave encouraged me into learning the panel and Harry (3NRG's training officer) trained me and here I am. I started Storybook Hour in 2004 where I read various stories, poetry and play songs for children and aged listeners. I try to involve the community in participating in the station by involving four local Primary Schools in and I have the Children come up to the station to read and talk about their stories live to air or have them pre-record their stories. These primary school kids have also recorded a number of rhyming song station promos which I wrote for them. I also present 'Fantastic Fridays' which is a music program and includes the Zucchini Brothers around 7.30am and lastly on Sunday's is the 'The Gospel Show' 2-4pm Sundays which is where I am able to play my Christian Music and speak with guests. |
Christine Tuesday 9-10am STORYBOOK HOUR Friday 7-10am FANTASTIC FRIDAY Sunday 2-4PM THE GOSPEL SHOW |
Jim Wilson "Blues Circuit" Wednesday 12-2pm Blues/ Roots Jim started on 3NRG back when the station was called "Bulla FM" in the late 90's. He attended a members meeting to find out what it was all about and joined before leaving the meeting. "I play a mix of Acoustic/Country Blues and electric Chicago Blues, 60's Rock, punk Gospel and traditional Roots music Hillbilly, anything with a "Blues/Roots" sound. I enjoy being involved with the station and over the years with 3NRG, I've had a lot of fun and I've learned a lot." Blues Jim is also responsible for the 3NRG BBQ's and is on the committee. |
